daiwa zillion rods 2024

Featured Replies

I have the 7’3. It is all graphite. You won’t be disappointed. I love this rod and sensitivity is close to my Steez

I have the 75 MHHf.  Pretty cool rod once I figured it out.

It's all graphite.

If you wanted a jerkbait/topwater rod would you go with 6'10" medium heavy regular?

Ehhhh I wouldn't do jerkbaits unless you're talking about Pointer 128 type.  Handle would be kinda long too.  Now I will suggest the Evergreen Combat Stick 72MHmf as a rod that could do what you're asking about.  I know the specs are similar but you have to fish it to believe it.  It'll do Vision 110s up to Shower Blows 125s pretty well.

Looking to do 110jr as well. Maybe the Expride 6’10M is best. I'm also looking at a Poison Adrena 6'10M.

They definitely have a great reputation for those.  I have a 68Mxf St Croix Legend Xtreme for those jerkbaits.   I love that rod.

I have the 7'2 M/F which is all graphite.

All I've thrown on it so far are small keitechs but it has quite a soft tip so I'm gonna mess around with some other moving baits.

What applications are you using for this rod? Seems like a step up with cork from the Tatula Elite line up

@Dangerfield I have the 75 bottom contact as well, using it mostly for T-rigs, C-rigs, wobble heads, weightless or semi weightless plastics, used for dragging a football jig as well which it can do fine but not my preferred rod.

The rod is fine, but not something super special. Daiwa cheaped out a little on these considering the price tag, guide train especially isn't even advertised accurately. TW lists the rod as 9+tip which is wrong, it's 8+tip and all alconite guides after Daiwa had initially teased SiC, basically equal to a $260 Zodias.

The handle is also just a touch short for my preference, not too short like some rods I've tried but personal preference I wish the reel seat was about an inch forward. Reel seat is super comfortable, no complaints there.

I'm looking to add a soft plastics/flipping stick to compliment my Tatula 7' 1" HF Jig rod. The 7' 1" replaced a Lew's Custom Lite 7' 3" Magnum Jig which is a dedicated bladed jig rod now. The shorter handle length is welcome as I fish from a kayak, I'm just not sure the value is their over the MHHF Elite version.

I sold it. Too moderate for dragging football jigs. And I like some moderate action in my jig rods.
