Can I pair a 100-150 sized casting reel with a 7-7’2” rod for cranking or does it need to be shorter?

I was asking if the Expride was the 6’10” rod you have.

For my cranking setup I want to throw KVD 1.5 + 2.5 size, 5/16-5/8 oz.

I would put that reel on an extra medium rod only. Length to be determined by latitude and longitude and which direction the water circles the drain. Always burn candles while using it.

I think you have been given some sound advice. I would suggest you take it.

Crank bait rods don't need to be this complicated. Pick out one in the weight range you need and pick a length that suits you and go fishing.

SLX, very similar intent and action, paired with an SLX 7 MGL.

I have been trying to determine if the Expride B is similar to the Expride A, but haven't yet got my hands on one.

I just heard Alex Davis talking about about his favorite rod for Spinnerbaits is a 7'3" Glass Curado and like to pair it with a 150 reel.

I'd recommend a MH/Mod.Fast

I'm not sure a MH is the right answer.  Depends on the specific power, and MH, M, ML, etc., are very unreliable.  Get a rod that has the lure weight specs as close to this 5/16-5/8 as you can, ignoring the MH, M, ML, etc.

Many custom builders measure objective CCS numbers for power and action, and know exactly what works best.  And with experience and data sharing can zero right in on thise issue.

Yeah, and if anything with this presentation it makes sense to err on the lighter side of power.
