Anyone own the Native Titan X 10.5 or 12.5? The 12.5 seems more popular, but I am leaning towards the 10.5 due to limited storage space and I’ll be loading it in the bed of my truck.

 

Any likes/dislikes?

Check out Greg Blanachard on youtube. He’s an ambassador for Titan and uses most all the size models. He has several videos specifically on the 10.5 and 12.5

^^This. Native Watercraft makes excellent yaks, I've got a 

Native Ultimate 12 hybrid yak/canoe. I had a 10' Pelican before

that and loved the maneuverability of the 10'. I've watched Greg's

videos for a few years now and yeah, he's got some $$ but he

does present great info on those yaks. Depending on your size,

you'll be able to stand easily in both. I'm a bit overweight for my

height, but standing in my much narrower Ultimate is no problem

for me.

What I heard about them in the past was they had a pretty wet cockpit.  The water leveled itself such that water didn't drain out the scupper holes very well.

My friends have them.  They are wet inside. 
 

10 footers mostly.  Some bigger.  They all stand up easily.  One guy can pivot and cast behind himself.  (I’d go for a swim)

 

the instant reverse is cool!  Makes me jealous sometimes.   Here is why I’m in a hobie.  The hole shot.  Nothing pedals with more power and authority than my pedal drive.  I’ve towed Natives caught in currents and wind that can’t make headway on the California delta.  They don’t move!  I can move both of us.  (There is a Blanchard vid where his friend Mike has to do this for Greg). 
 

having said that. Native is a great fishing kayak.  You just stand up. Pop!  Standing in Mine is a bit of a yoga move.  I pedaled my friends 10.5.  It’s slow and noisy for me. But it’s stable and the seat feels like a chair.   And pulling weeds from the prop is for real.

I’m about 6’7 and I know the “yoga moves” act all too well when I try to stand up out of the chair on my old town. The higher chair, better stability, and lots of customization for electronics and rigging have me leaning toward the Titan X.

WRT the noise of the drive, I heard that Jackson's Mark IV drive is the quietest drive on the market-at least for the prop driven ones.  The old generation drive wasn't that quiet, but they fixed some of the other issues like the steering and then went with a total redesigned belt drive for their drive.  They had an overall lowering of their list prices since the beginning of the year.  The Big Rig FD, for example was reduced 33% down to $2675.  Most say it is a better kayak than their Knarr, which was an overall disappointment.
