Tatula XT Casting Rod MHF 7'. Consider Tatula SV TW Reel Combo.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I recently purchased a Tatula XT Casting Rod 7' MH with a fast action.

I'm currently researching/trying to figure out which Reel i want to pair with it. Looking to purchase the reel quite soon.

I've really only looked at the Tatula SV TW as i wanted to pair the Tatula rod, with a Tatula Reel (Doesn't necessarily have to be this way).

I get nervous looking at a lot of feedback about the Tatula SV TW. Seems a lot of anglers are having to take it apart, to oil and grease bearings immediately upon purchase.

Whether on Bass Resource, Reddit, or Daiwa website directly - the issue seems to happen often when anglers are purchasing this reel.

I am not familiar with adding the oil/grease though i understand from videos it isn't the most complicated thing - and i can definetely do the research/figure it out.

Am i over thinking it, and i shouldn't avoid purchasing just based on the potential maintenance i have to do?

Open to other reels as well that may match up to the performance/rep of the Tatula SV TW in its place 😮.  FWIW, i'd throw top waters/moving baits - maybe also t-rigged senkos etc.

Any any all responses are greatly appreciated!

This year I have bought two Tatula 100, one Tatula SV TD 103. I have not had to oil or grease any of the three. They are excellent reels.

Correction Tatula SV TW103

@RFSims Appreciate your time sir.

That is very reassuring. I'm thinking ill just do it, and figure it out if i need to!

I have 8 of them, never have done a thing. I've happy with mine.

I had to oil the bearings in one of mine, but that was no big deal.   The rest have been just fine.  The SV's make casting so easy.

Skip the SV TW 103, get the new Tatula 100 SV from Bass Pro Shops during the spring classic. Head to Walmart and buy a $5 rod, BPS will give you $40 off of it per their trade in program thats tiered based on item being boughts price.
