I've been eye balling todays pre-frontal forecast for several days hoping it would hold up and not be too windy to fish effectively.

Well the forecast held up but the wind was right on the edge of what I was hoping for.

It's a hike so I gave it a shot.

With that warm south wind, a mix of sun & hazy clouds and water temps just under 50 degrees,

I was working hard to stay on my spots and make the right casts.

Jerkbaits all day.

Late afternoon here is usually the deal but I was getting beat up a bit waiting her out.

Diligence paid off with a sweet smallie. 

She had taken a poke at my bait once and got it on the next cast.

That felt good for many reasons.
