TW account messed up

Featured Replies

This is the third time my TW account has gotten messed up. It keeps saying my login & password is incorrect. They have not changed in the last 2 years since the last time it did this. I called them and they said just create a new account with your next order. Great, but I lost my wish list and now have to try to recreate it from memory and a new order is not in my near future. Seems like a problem with their server. Curious, Has anyone else had this happen?

My account login still works but my wish lists did disappear.  Sucks cause I had a lot of good stuff saved.  Maybe a hacker trying to combat the bait monkey?

I lost my swimbait wishlist this winter but kept all the rest.  I mean look at the positive, remaking them gives you something to do when you're indisposed.

Hmmmm not gonna lie. I’ve always checked out as a guest I didn’t know you could make a wish list! I just keepa Running cart lol. Ugh I don’t need more stuff tho

You have to watch keeping a running cart as a guest.  It stores in your browser cache and your cache occasionally dumps.  So you lose it.  Next time you purchase, create an account and then always stay logged in.  I’ve never lost a wish list across a bunch of devices so long as I stay logged in.

I’ll have to do that! I mean I probably shouldn’t but I will! Thank you!

Just don't save your credit card info on their site. They got hacked a couple years ago and were not very forthright about it all. They kept letting people order while there was an active risk if user data still being stolen.

I reached out for support/answers and got absolutely ignored.

order from Omnia or bait wrx

It's super handy in the winter actually.  They run the christmas gift card sale (10% off) so buy one for yourself.  Then build a wishlist through the winter until they run their spring sale where everything is 20% off.  Use the gift card to pay and you basically have 30% off (28% if you want to get technical about it).  When you see a bait here that gets high scores, add it to the wish list until you build up to free shipping.  Stuff like that.

That’s a great idea. Thank you!!

ftfy :P

honestly I'd say if that's an issue maybe just put your shopping list somewhere else like google keep or a local joplin file...I have had 0 issues w/ TW personally...compared to another shop (don't feel like pointing fingers right now) that charged me upfront for something that went on backorder and then not refunding me to the point where I had to dispute the charge w/ m y cc company when I eventually cancelled because they still didn't refund me weeks later and stopped responding to my emails (btw I won that dispute) TW has been awesome as far as I'm concerned since they only charge when an item ships and they always seem to do a great job shipping rods...not sure they are obligated to keep every user's wishlist forever either and just as an aside cloud storage isn't free.

Don't get me wrong I am a huge TW fan and have spent more there than I should have, I just wish I could keep a login with them.

So looking into this more it seems they offer both cookie based wishlists and a wishlist based on login. If you don't login and make a wishlist it's going to be stored in your browser cookies and so if you clear your cache or use a different browser or computer it's not going to be there. I would expect a login based wishlist to persist, but could be they are having issues w/ that. In my case I just made a 'baits to try' folder in my browser and then favorite any that I might want to include in my next order and save them as a favorite there. Aside from that might be worth making a new TW account or at the very least changing your password on your existing one and making sure it's a strong password and not the same one that you use for other accounts.
