Minn Kota Endura 30 lb. transom mount TR

I have a 1985/86 vintage Minn Kota 17 lb. TR on my inflatable. I’ve noticed that is has some vibration and sometimes if I toggle between FWD and REV, it won’t operate in one direction until I toggle back and forth a few times. I can purchase a new Endura 30 lb. TR for $139.99 from numerous stores locally. Anyone have any experience with this motor?

Having better reliability, a smoother ride and almost 50% more thrust seems like a bargain, but I’d appreciate any real-world feedback if anyone has or does use this TR.

I used to use an edura 30# on my kayak. It handled it pretty well. I got a killer deal on a newport 55# so I upgraded. I will say though, after I upgraded I left my endura sitting in the corner of the garage for about a year and when I went to test it because i was going to sell it the blasted thing wouldn't work. The switch in the handle went bad. If it is going to be stored in a garage or shed the endura might not be the best choice.

Interesting, as I do keep my TR in the garage. But it’s 40 years old, so I expect some issues lol.

I have one on my 14' boat that I mounted in the bow.  It's been very reliable for years.

Thanks. The price is certainly right.

Have a 55# transom mount Endura, my third one over the past 17 years. The first was a 40#, the second a 50# transom mount. Been pretty bulletproof. The full 55# is almost too much for the bracket, but the 4 lower speeds are great. Won’t be an issue with the 30. Miss infinite variable speed, but otherwise been a great motor.
