Bait Shops near Lake Georgetown Texas

Featured Replies

Will be in the Leander/Georgetown Texas area in a few weeks and will be fishing Lake Travis and Lake Georgetown, and maybe the San Gabriel River if it isn't dried up. Does anyone know of bait shops in the area to get live bait? Probably will be using minnow type baits and leaches unless someone has a better recommendation. Also plenty of lures and plastics. Thanks.

For the San Gabriel skinny, Living Waters in Round Rock is a great fly shop.  They should also be able to tell you about lake levels and ramp access.

For wade access,  San Gabriel Fly Fishers website has an interactive map.

Constant level lakes on the Colorado are Lake Austin  and, farther up, Inks and LBJ.

Stillhouse Hollow and Lake Belton are not far up the road from Georgetown. This might help if you want to get off the bank.

Appreciate the info, will help. I haven't fly fished in about 30 yrs, but if I continue to visit the area I might try it again. Good to know about the Colorado too.

Yeah, a kayak sounds fun. I wasn't planning on doing that, but I will be there for about 2 weeks, so ya never know. Thanks for info about Lake Belton and Stillhouse. not too far and easy to get to.
