Summertime cranking is still one of the most exciting ways to catch bass, and Mike’s spilling the secrets to making it work—no forward-facing sonar needed. Ready to bring the heat to your summer fishing game? Check out Mike’s full guide to summertime cranking now!

Crankbaits are one thing I have ZERO confidence in.

I might be able to count on one hand how many bass I've caught on a crankbait.

Because of this I rarely throw them.

But you can't catch them on it if you don't throw them.

I need to do a better job this year.

Probably even catch some bigger bass since it's most likely deeper water.

Still learning (trying) every day.  :)

I've only caught about 10 bass over 6 lbs, but every one was on a crankbait.......including my PB.

I hate 'em....no other lure that I throw causes me more frustration and blood loss than do my crankbaits. But I HAVE to throw them.

This is definitley something I want to learn to do more effectively. Thanks for another good video.

One very intersting thing he said is that he could smell bream beds. A quick search says the smell is like a very ripe watermelon. I've never noticed smelling that on the water. Would those of you who have noticed it describe it that way?

Smells like fish. And it's strong, you can't miss it.
