I've got a1986 Mariner 150 Magnum. I noticed this yesterday when inspecting my transom. Is it something broken? It looks that way. Anybody know?20250616_152009.jpg.785bdd6312ad144287e2dea039726360.jpg

It sure looks like a broken piece of cast metal, Don.  Do the pieces pivot? How is it held on?

Looks like a brace or bracket that is under the pivot point of the motor. Wish I could help more.

Both pieces pivot.

From the looks of it I doubt that is structural piece.  Given the holes to increase surface area I'm going to guess it's the sacrificial anode.

 

I gotta agree with Slowworm.  That second picture shows it better.
