QUESTION for NRX 821 NRR users

Featured Replies

I’m interested in picking one of these up to use for a Ned rig.

Does it have enough power for a Texas rigged Ned rig… I typically use a Blockhead jig head and fish my neds weedless.

It should be fine. Its pretty much the only style of head I use any more. I don’t go any higher than 1/8oz and I also try not to fish them too deep.  The rod has enough power but it is different than the other NRX rods. Once you get it figured out, its awesome.

Also,  I have tried different reels on it and found I like a 2000 size reel, in particular the Shimano Vanquish.

I’m considering this rod. Do you think it would balance okay with either stradic 2500 ci4 or a vanford 3000?

Maybe the 2500 Stradic but I still prefer the 2000 size Vanquish on this rod.

Very whippy rod, I am designating mine for vertical drop shot nose hooked rigging.
