Breaking a bass rod usually occurs by operator error high sticking and boat flipping bass. The problems with Carrot Stix was random breaking by pro and recreational bass anglers.
Tom

I always cringe whenever I watch any fishing show and watch them just drop the rod which usually falls right on the side of the boat at about the mid point of the rod or when they grab the upper 1/3rd of the rod to yank the fish in. Although I don’t own a boat I was taught both of these things are just bad habits that should be avoided if possible.

I'm a tackle junkie.  Before retirement I was a big fan of G Loomis rods.  Following retirement and relocating to a serious bass fishing area in 2012 I wanted to increase my rod selection. Two local dealers convinced me to try some Duckett rods, and I now own about 30 of them.  One attraction was that I could buy 2 or 3 Ducketts for the price of one Loomis.  I have now reversed course and am back to Loomis;  their quality cannot be denied.  In defense of Duckett, I have not had one single problem of any kind with any of their rods;  none.

I still have a couple Carrot Stix casting rods.

I work part time at a tackle shop. My SOUL leaves my body whenever people grab the top 3rd of the rod to flex the action!   ABSOLUTE SAVAGES!!!!!!!!
