JDM 200 sized baitcaster

Featured Replies

Are there many JDM models out there in the 200 size?

Seems like most are 70 or 100.

Just ordered a crankbait rod that should bomb them out there and figured a larger size would be better.

Thanks!

What's the range in weight of crankbaits you intend to throw?

Mostly 3XD's and 5XD's or other brands that would be similar.

Basically depths that range from 10-15 feet.

Looks like 7/16 oz and 5/8 oz range.

The new Tatula 150 would be perfect. Capacity is closer to most other brand's 200. Nice tall 36mm spool is good for long casts and T-wing is great for plastic line.

I wonder how a Tatula would compare to say a Curado?

Very similar in price.

I found a 150 sized Shimano Bantam from Japan as well.

IDK, 150 and 200 are very limited it seems.

Like I said earlier, the Tat 150 holds nearly as much line as a Curado 200.

Comparisons are in the eye of the beholder. Deep divers with big bills getting high-arc launched for distance catch wind. If you have a slick thumb, centrifugal brakes are fine. If you'd rather cast mindlessly, then Mag Z is simply a friendlier braking system in this scenario. Plus, if you'll be using something like typical 12lb flouro the T-Wing is the chit. Coil-y line just flows through it.

Thanks.

Ordered the line this morning as well.

10 lb Tatsu.

The Bantam would be my choice for your intended purpose.

Well I think I have it down to the 22 Bantam 150 or the 25 Tatula 150.

Not sure which is best.

6 minutes after I post the above I order the Bantam. LOL

Not to mention hopefully a free lure out of the transaction. My favorite!  :)
