Can y'all update your anchor wizard reviews please?

Featured Replies

I went through a lot of the anchor wizard posts that I found in the search. I was hoping I could get some updated information. How long have you had 1? Any problems you've run into using them etc etc

Thank you in advance

Tight Lines

I’ve been running mine about 2 years now. No problems. I have mine mounted on the right hand side of my seat with the anchor deploying off the bow. I don’t use the chute, though I do own it. I don’t run it through an anchor trolley, though I do have one on my boat. I have the anchor wizard anchor and don’t like it. For me, it doesn’t hold me in place in deep water (15’+) with little current. I’m going to switch to the tightline K5 anchor after this summer.

Which anchor wizard anchor do you not like? I was thinking of getting the anchor wizard k5.

How often does the crank housing require maintenance?

Still don't like any of them. No need for the extra contraption.

I need an anchor where I'll be fishing and I really don't want to deal with the rope in a kayak.

Here’s my setup. You’re looking aft. That’s the actual anchor wizard brand anchor. I am going to get the K5 by tightline anchors after this summer…

Thank you. I'll check out that anchor too. I'll be getting mine in the next month. 🤞

Ah lol i thought the k5 was an anchor wizard anchor. I saw it in their website. We're talking about the same item. I'm getting the elite system with that anchor. Tyvm for your feedback

You bet. Happy to help. Yes, the elite system includes the k5 anchor. It’s a fluke style anchor, and where I fish, it seems to be a better idea.

I use an anchor and trolley all the time. I wrap the line on a piece of 2x2 with two hardwood dowels on each end. This also allows me to use a float and slip system for quick release if necessary.

What type of water are you fishing?

Slow moving creeks and rivers, ponds, lakes like Dale Hollow.
