Which Yozuri line?

Featured Replies

Hi, new here, from the great state of Montana.  We have awesome smallmouth fishing, both here and in Idaho.

Now for my question:  I'm using a 6'6" Shimano Compre, med. action, 1/8-1/2 oz lure wt, Shimano Calcutta 51.  (I have two of these).  Also have two Shimano 7' med. action Compre, 1/8-1/2oz, Quantum Catalyst Spinning reels.  I prefer the baitcasters, unless the wind is howling or I'm throwing unweighted Senkos.

Fishing smallmouth with jig/grub, 1/8-1/4 oz jig head, small cranks, tubes 1/8-3/8 oz.  Once in a while some 3-4" senkos.  All river fishing, from a boat.

I'm thinking about trying some Yozuri line, either Hybrid or Hybrid UltraSoft, in either 8# or 10#--maybe 6# for the spinning set up.  Which combination would you recommend?  Thanks.

Welcome!!  and awesome fish! 8-)

I would recommend the Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft in 6lb for your spinning set up and 12lb for your baitcasters.

Me, too.

I agree with the majority, however for your baitcaster I would recommend you also consider Seaguar flourocarbon as well.

Roadwarrior is "THE MAN" when it comes to Yozuri lines. I have followed his advice and am happy I did. I don't think you will be dissapointed.
