The new Zoo Pop

Wake baits!  Don’t forget the wake baits! Popper are good too.

Grab ya a size 75 whopper plopper and a popper. I like the Berkley choppo and Berkley bullet pop. They will work just fine on that combo.

F11 floating rapala in chart/“silver”. My dad used to run this when I was a kid and caught a lot of really good MI largemouth around pads and weeds with this bait. He’d fish evening, last two hours before dark.

His method was a steady 4-5 cranks, then pause and let the minnow float to the top and sit until no rings, then sit longer. He’d repeat this each cast, and he got some d**n good fish doing it. Some hit as soon as he’s crank it down after a pause, but more often it’d get slurped after sitting. Spinning gear and mono was his rig…this was back in the mid-late 90’s

Doesn't really have to be a micro bait to be fished on a medium spinning rod. I've been using a Spro Essential Series E Pop 80 (7/16oz), on a medium Lightning Rod Shock with 10lb braid as one of my 2 regular options for my before work fishing trips and it works really well. A Super Spook Jr, 1/4 or 1/8oz buzzbait, 90 plopper, Baby 1-, really a wide variety of bait options.  Spro also makes a tiny popping frog (a 50 size I believe?), that I fish on that same spinning setup that is a lot of fun if it's calm out. Really good around tall grass banks late in the summer where grasshoppers are ending up in the water.

I have 20lb Power Pro braid with an 12lb Sunline Supernatural mono leader (equivalent in diameter to 8lb Big Game).

I've caught thousands of bass with my spinning outfits and surface lures. I throw all sizes of surface lures. My favorite rod is M fiberglass 7' 2". I use 30 lb. braid.

I know that I'm doing this all wrong, but it works for me.
