Does Anybody Forage Their Bait?

I can't believe no one has mentioned robbing wasp nets for the larvae.

UH,,,,,just NO!  But I used to dig into rotten logs for Junebug Larva. They make great bait.

My cousins and I would decide to go fishing, and would go into the woods to flip rotting branches and trees to catch salamanders.  More good times!

I use to do it for cat-fishing.  I never have for bass.

I rarely use live bait for bass but do for panfish, walleyes and catfish. I often catch my own night crawlers , trap minnows, cast net shad and rod & reel.catch green sunfish, chubs and gold eye for bait.
