Fishing with Spectacles

I needed glasses for reading a long time and always had prescription polarized sunglasses. Today we have light weight shatter proof glass to choose from in lieu of polycarbonate lens that scratch.

I bought my last pair from Costco, excellent quality at 1/2 the price of whatever lens type you are looking for.

Same pair?

I loved my Onos readers, but never got much more than a year out of a pair.  Switched to Costas last year.  The Onos always got 'pitting' on the inside surface.  No idea why.  Used warranty a couple times and talked to cust svc about it.  Only used the anti-fog stuff they recommended.  The Costa lenses are better, but the reader portion is too small, IMO.  The Onos reader are is perfect.  Wish the lenses lasted better for me.

I get a new pair each year.  I clean them with warm soapy water after each trip . Since I started doing this they last much longer.

I need to wear my prescription progressive lenses to function in life. As of yet, I have not bought prescription sunglasses.

Instead, I use Cocoons fitovers. I have them with amber, gray, blue, and green lenses. Occasionally they run a 2 for 1 sale. I'm very satisfied with their value and their results.

I wear them and water getting on them when I'm fishing drives me crazy.  I love fishing in misty rain but the glasses can be a problem.  I used to wear contacts when I was young but my eyes are just too dry for them now.  I talked to my Dr about it and he said he could prescribe disposable contacts for me to wear on rainy days on the water.  The dryness probably wouldn't be an issue in the rain.  I wear progressive lenses so he suggested to buy some cheap reading glasses at the drug store to use when I'm wearing the contacts and tying a knot.  It sounds like a feasible plan but I haven't done it yet.
