Day after labor day

We had no plans for today so I took my wife to my favorite (26,000 acre) pond.  We went to the third most busy launch.  There were only 2 rigs there.  We weren’t early.  It was near 9 when we arrived.  Moving out to the main lake we saw no boat traffic.  I fished a bit and caught a few fish then we decided to go for a ride.  One of the places I had planned to hit had a boat on it so we motored 7 miles up the Little Sac river.  We spot locked under a bridge and had lunch.

On the way back I went to the place where I saw a boat earlier.  He was gone so I fished my favorite ledge and caught 3 and lost 3 on Shaky.  Then we headed back to the truck.  We covered close to 25 miles of water today.  We saw to ride around boats, 2 pontoons, 2 bass boats and one jet ski.  It actually felt like we owned the lake.  It was a good day to be on the water.

Isn't it great to have the water to yourself. Best part of being retired is I only fish week days and my last trip I never saw another boat.

Paradise!

It's funny that there were just a few boats on the lake but one of them was on a spot you wanted to fish. Sounds like a problem George Costanza would have had :)
