Looking for a Durable Spinnerbait
Booyah convert holds up well for me unless a big bowfin gets it. Most of the many spinner baits I have, that I use are Booyah or War Eagle. The Finesse model War Eagle holds up well probably because its smaller so not as much wire to mess up. I do like the thinner wire baits which will get bent out of shape but they seem to get that way catching fish

What do you have tied on in the summer?
T rig Zoom UV speed worms T rig Zoom UV craw Fluke Spinnerbaits Buzz bait or Plopper Chatter bait Crank bait if not to much grass

Buzzbait line observations
When I threw buzz baits a lot I'd often look the way as I reeled, setting the hook when I felt the fish. Now I always use braid and rely on old age to slow my reflexes and it seems to work.

USPS Ground Advantage
Been there before, had a package that finally made it 30 miles from home after multiple stops only to go 600 miles away and start again. Over 2 weeks for a 25 dollar bracket for a transducer. No wonder USPS can't make a profit.

Overthinking Hooksets
Sounds right to me. Being an seasoned angler, I started with 5-6 pistol grip fiberglass rods and mono line with tru turn hooks and you had to hammer them but with today's gear it's much easier to get a good hook set. Broke the back out of 3 seats back in my younger years setting the hook but much easier now

Your fishing prime
At 71, I'm well past my prime which judging by the plaques hanging my shop was about 35 years ago. I had a good run with our local club and local tournaments for s few years but slowly lost the competitive drive needed to do well.

Spinnerbait Help
My favorite bait to fish and there is no wrong way to fish it. My normal way is to keep it barely in sight but also fish it deeper to contact cover. Usually use 3/8 or 1/2 oz. baits, Colorado or Indiana blades early in the year, willow leaf blades when the water warms and clears up. Have well over 100 spinnerbaits in multiple colors and sizes and normally have 3 tied on when I leave the house and Jason Christie an expert, watch all his videos, but his way isn't the only way, just his way, find yours.

Favorite spinnerbaits?
Booyah Convert, Booyah counter rotating, War Eagle double willow, War Eagle Finness, Hildebrand Snagless Sally and recently a Bizz Baits spinnerbait. Used many brands over the years but most of my many spinnerbaits are these brands now.

Do you post your bass pics and videos at any other sites?
Only once or twice have I posted on FB. Seldom take pictures of my catch anymore but keep them filed away in my head.

A Four-pound Indicator
Years of being the weigh master for my local Club plus weighing my own gave me a good eye for weights but only up to about 4-5 pounds, over that I have a lot less experience. Without weighing them, length is the best for estimating weight for me.

How many miles do you go to fish?
30 miles round trip, 25 minutes each way unless I catch the school traffic which adds about 10 minutes. Usually try to time it to miss the worst of it.

Apparently winter turns bass fishermen into tackle collectors
I can fish year round but do tend to stock up after Christmas using gift cards from Christmas and birthday which is New Years Eve. Also sometime find sales prior to new gear coming out in spring.

Lures you may never use ???
Got plenty of baits that rarely bet used, deep cranks, just a few days each year, jigs, been years, jerk baits that I once used nearly every trip sit idle now, to hard on the old body. Many more since I mainly fish soft plastics and spinnerbaits or chatter baits.
-
Have you ever counted your lures?
Last year I counted my spinner baits for fun and had 125 and 30+ chatterbaits. Got 10 3700's with cranks and top water and I've run out of room to hang plastics on my wall. In my defense, I've been at this for 50 years so it's not hard to accumulate to much tackle and some of the baits are over 30 years old.

What do you think about eating bass?
Have eaten a lot of bass over the last 50 years, hot water , cold water, clean, muddy and brackish and they all tasted about the same when they came out of the grease, great. The area I mainly fish, a coastal marsh, has no shortage of smaller bass, any over 4 pounds is a big fish, so I've never had any problem keeping some for a meal and always from 1-2 pound size.

What do you consider your most productive old time lure?
'Chartreuse/ White Snagless Sally #4, been using one for over 40 years and they still catch fish.

H2OX being discontinued?
Own 3 of the H2O Ethos rods and use them on occasion and like them, vey light weight. Also the Mettel reels have held up well for me. Bought 5 for 25$ each years ago, gave one each to my son in laws and kept 3, 2 still catching redfish in the fall.

winter fishing
I made a cast one time that bounced on the water. Live on the Gulf coast so we don't have hard water, only once or twice have I seen our water with a sheet of ice over it. So fortunate that I can fish year round.

What are your 2026 fishing goals?
Just continue to enjoy my days on the water. I know that my time on the water is nearing its end as I will soon be 72 so I try to just enjoy every day and every fish I catch regardless of its size.

Trailers for mini buzz baits
Used to use the SK 1/8 oz. Buzz baits a lot but not lately. Mainly used the tail section of a Zoom trick worm, maybe 2-3". Worked well because it did not interfere with the action due to its slender profile. Favorite color for the trailer was yellow by the way and it also works on larger baits.

How cold is TOO cold to fish?
In my younger days I fished in temps as low as mid 20s many times but now I'm into my 7th decade and mid 40s is about it and only if it isn't windy. Quick and uncomplicated way to polish spinnerbait blades and spoons
I use Brasso and have for years but toothpaste will work also. If I want to really top them off I finish with Slick Mist ceramic.

What is the most expensive lure you've lost?
20 dollar Jack Hammer not like after they came out. Most expensive bait I have bought to date. Would say I don't buy expensive baits but even what was once affordable baits are now 10$ or more.

Need reviews for a Fisher Marsh Hawk.
Had an 89 marsh hawk 3 v with a 60 rude on it that I ran for 12 or so years. Good little boat that I sold when I moved up to my first Xpress.
