Soft body line thru glide bait

Featured Replies

Looking for recommendation on soft body line thru glide bait. Lake I'm going to start fishing, from the youtube videos I've seen they catch them pretty good during the spring and probably all year long. I've never fished hard of soft glides so it will all be new to me.

Thanks

Raid Osakana Slide is great.  $30 but I think there's a bogo deal now.  Stock they stay about a foot below the surface. Add a 3/32 nail behind the ft hook slot and they run 2-3' easily.  Pretty durable and absolutely catch.

There's a jdm bait that the name escapes me (Glideway?).  The Nessie from Berkley was inspired by it.  Supposed to be great but not very durable.

Nessie...meh very mechanical and not that good.

Megabass Magdrafts are great, but susceptible to damage from a good fish.  I use mostly Bass Mafia "Daingerous" line thru models;  they cost less and hold together better.  Megabass claims they have recently improved the durability of Magdrafts, and I'm probably going to try out their new 5 inch size models.

Are you looking for line thru glides specifically or just line thru swimbaits? There's not a ton of options for line through glides that I'm aware of, but lots of line thru swimbaits.

if option are limited it doesnt have to be line thru. the videos i've been watching the guy was using the osakana, finally found the name of the bait burried in the comments. I may look into that deal that was mentioned. I hadnt heard anything good about the nessie so I wasnt hesitant to buy, only the berkley pros have something good to say about it!

You're thinking of the Grow Design Works Flag. Their G-Flag gill glide is good too, but are a little pricey and hard to come by for someone just jumping in.

Osakana Slide would definitely be his best best as far as price and availability. There's also the Megabass Ayu Twitcher, which I didn't personally care for. Still haven't tried the Berkley Chop Block, but it at least seems to be better than the Nessie.

Another favorite of mine is the Skinner Baits Clide, it's line through and can be run completely weedless with a BKK Titanrider. Also made of silicone so holds up great. Really the most unique one on the market. It is extremely premium starting at $120 each, if you catch a drop haha

+1 for the okasana. Gets bit. FYI f you don't put the second hook in, it floats.

Alternatively if you are going to do a hard glide the s-waver 168 is known as the best entry point glide - seems to be easy to make it work, and it isn't expensive.

In either case, something like bone.
