How to build confidence once on the water

I can’t really give you advice on that size body of water since where I fish ranges from 17,000 to 50,000 acres with from a few hundred to 1,000 miles of shoreline. My advice is on the bait. Use the baits that you have the most confidence in when you start on new water.

Oh wow. Yeah I won’t be fishing anything that big

I fish Lake Hartwell. 56,000 acres and 962 miles of shoreline. Funny part is, I seldom go more than 2 or 3 miles from the launch. Just because a lake is big doesn't mean it has to fish big. You can section off a part of it and still achieve your goal. Years of fishing it have gave me the knowledge of what creeks produce according to my style of fishing and it is slap full of angry spotted bass so I have fun no matter what.
