Gonna see if they’re shallow up in the trees with a Siebert jig and if not try deep with the spinnerbait, lipless, and swimbait.

@Swamp Girl I would highly recommend the Sponson Stabilizer addition to your canoe. The improved stability is unbelievable and confidence inspiring. I would dare to say “virtually impossible ” to flip

You do seem like the voice of reason. And I know you KNOW how it feels to watch so many of the Bass Resource gang catch bass and we just dream of past glory. I'm feeling like Uncle Rico: I'm trying

I'm thinking about trolling an A-Rig when I'm in transit. I think it'll be too hard to cast, but should be quite troll-able. I'm also going to slow roll a fluke and paddletail and cast a big swimbait and spinnerbait.

I'll often fish wind-protected shorelines, while wishing I was fishing the wind-battered shoreline.

You'll probably get what you want. This morning it was blowing a consistent 15mph from the west, regardless of what the weather reported. Right now, it's coming in from the NW at a hard 16mph with swirling 28mph gusts. Real feel is 19*. Temps dropping to 32* by 5am. Whatever gains in warmth we had will really dip, especially in spots that max out at 5' deep. These dips during late April early May will have bass abandoning their beds for a few days and shut down. Might happen once. Might happen a few times.

Also hoping to go shore bang a while soon. Been going thru some health issues for 2.5 months but maybe can make some casts this weekend and try to get the new lithiums in the boat. Bite will be on fire by middle of next week

Let us know if you catch some, please! I also think the bite will be hot next week. Did you have snow today? We did, but it's the last gasp of cold, I think.

Yup we did too. But next week looks beautiful. Hopefully I feel well enough to go hang a few from shore. The jerkbaits are ready!

Oh, they are. With the length of day and moon cycles, they've been eating. It's amazing how well fed they are after ice-out. I have yet to catch anything looking like a post-spawner.

Good Luck tomorrow…Hope their chewing!

The weather should be close to perfect, so your hope might come true! I'm also going to launch on Wednesday and perhaps next Friday too.

Love the Christmas lights. Took me an extra few weeks to take those down this year 😊

We haven’t had very good weather in central Pa.

17 degrees Wednesday with a few snow flurries and a lot of wind.

Yesterday: wind 14mph from the East and 33mph gusts.

Hopefully better today.

Definitely stopping at one of my shore spots on the way home from a visit with my oncologist. Sunny and mid 50s is the forecast. See if the largemouths have started moving into the shallower weeds as they warm up faster than the main lake.

@Swamp Girl , Im just curious, if your lake is only 10' deep, how come it does not freeze solid and kill all the fish? Is there a spring or bubbler to keep it from freezing or is 10' feet deep enough to keep enough liquid under that ice? Inquiring minds want to know. I know when I lived in the northern plains every once in a while some of the livestock dams, if they were not made deep enough, would freeze completely solid. Ranchers would try everything to keep them open for their cattle and the fishing. That type of cold is no joke. If you venture out stay safe and know that warmer days are just ahead.

We have a tiny pond that is probably 3' deep. It's the first to freeze every year and the first to thaw, but the panfish seem to survive most years. Maybe not this past winter though..
