Lamiglas

Featured Replies

Who uses Lamiglas and what do you think?  I just received the XMG 50 Series 7'2", 1 piece, 1/4-1 lure wt., 12-20 line wt., fast action, drop shot casting rod.  I was able to purchase it for half price so I took the plunge.  I haven't been able to fish with it yet, but I am very impressed.  I have BPS Extreme XPS and Loomis GLX as well as countless other lesser rods and I think this rod compares very favorably to the Loomis.  It's extremely light and well balanced and seems ultra sensitive from what I can tell in the house.  We'll see on the water.  Opinions?

With one exception, all my rods are G-Loomis or Lamiglas. I have built 1/2 dozen rods on Lamiglas blanks and they are all super fishing sticks. You will be pleased with the Lamiglas. 1/2 price, all the better!

I don't have any of their graphite rods, but I have the glass rod designed by Skeet Reese for heavy and deep diving lures: SR705R. This is Heavy Power/ Slow Action. The design, engineering, components and craftmanship is on par with G. Loomis. This rod is technique specific for me, but it is the PERFECT rod for those applications. I fish Lucky Craft Pointer 128, Spooks, DD22 and Mann's +15, +20 & +25 on the rod. This year I'm going to give it a go with big live baits fishing for stripers. I am very pleased with the rod.

I've built quite a few rods using Lamiglass blanks. Super nice rods IMO.
