Fishing the bushes

My favorite lake is 24,900 acres at power pool with 298 miles of shoreline. About 200 miles has button bushes and some buck brush just outside the normal water line. It is a rocky ledgy highland reservoir. I’ve had some issues which have kept me form being there often and I have lost the fish. We go to go last week and caught 25 bass with only one keeper.

With above average rain the lake keeps rising and now is up in the bushes at 8 feet above pool. I’m not a flipper or a pitcher. I’m going to hit it Tuesday morning. I have tied on; spinner bait, buzz bait, frog, T rigged worms both weighted and weightless and some Ned rigs. What am I overlooking for in the brush.

I would include a jig and craw. Btw, I love that lake though I won't name it either. 🙂 I need to get back down there.

At least 2 setups are jig rigged 24/7. The name isn’t a secret. It is Stockton lake.

That is correct. It isn't a secret, but since you chose not to name it in your original post I chose not to name it either out of respect to what I thought was your desire in this thread. I see now that I was mistaken.

I've caught both my biggest bass and the most bass in bushes this year. I think you've got the lures you need. I would only suggest these two things:

You can often spot bass under bushes when they move and the bush twitches. Be alert for that.

Don't hesitate to cast boldly into the bushes. If you get snagged in the wood, that can be a good thing if you can jiggle it free. A lure jiggling in a bush seems to activate bass.

Buzzbait,Texas rigged craw or creature a a jig would be my go to for that type of situation. I’ve always done well with those in areas like that
