Chrome color poppers and walking baits is a top water color I always seem to pass on in favor of white / bone, black and translucent top water lure colors ? What conditions are you more apt to use a chrome color top water lure for bass such as : Sky (sunny or overcast) , water visibility, wind or calm conditions and water depth (shallow or deep) and even season of the year ? Hopefully, I can put the odds more in my favor when a chrome color top water popper of walking bait would be a better choice over other top water lure colors ? Conversely, if you are not a fan of chrome color top water lures for bass - please share as well why ?

Sunny, clear, calm. The flash will draw fish from a ways off but in the sun it doesn’t give a hard outline profile so they are keying on the flash, not dissimilar to burning a double willow in clear water.

I have a chrome Spook that has never caught much yet a chrome popper that is my favorite. Go figure.

Chrome popper catches most and biggest for me - seems to excel in calmer blue skies clear water conditions.

I throw a chrome Skitterwalk a lot. Love it when the sun is out. Shimmers like a mirror.
