G-Blanks offers a split grip rod for about $135.  It's a helluva rod for the money.  Their web-site sucks, but they are very responsive on the phone.  Bear in mind that they are a small company, so you may have to wait 3 or 4 weeks for your rod.

OKUMA!

OKUMA!!

OKUMA!!!

Cant go wrong with a Daiwa Light and Tough......Those things are cheap at $120, they stack up to higher price rods IMHO.

Is it easy to mess up your rod if you try and split the grip on it your self??
Yup. If you have never done a re-mod or tried to build a rod DON'T start cutting the cork on your old one...

If you cut the blank removing the cork, nick the blank cleaning the old epoxy off, overheat the blank trying to soften the old epoxy for removal. There are a number of ways to mess up your rod.

You have been given some good options on the purchase of a new split grip rod. I would leave your old rod alone and follow those options...

Tight Lines!!!

If you want a spinning rod i have a daiwa light and tough that i would consider selling or trading.  Just don't use spinning rods enough to keep it.
