Fat Ikas......Where to Purchase?

Featured Replies

Of coarse I could go through GYCB direct but shipping is nuts along with the prices.

Brad doesn't have hardly anything in stock and none of the colors that I really want.

Cabelas only sells the saltwater version with crazy colors. My local dicks only carries Green Pumpkin with black flakes which I picked up. Are there any other online stores that carry a nice selection of them?

I know *** does but again there is a color or two that are on backorder there. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the help but I want the real thing when it comes to the Ikas.

Appreciate the direction though.

Do you have a Gander Mountain near you?  The one down my way had loads of colors.

Well, if you are looking at specific colors and Brad can't help, GYCB direct may be the only answer. These are the colors I fish:

Watermelom w/ black flake

Watermelon w/ red & black flake

Green pumpkin w/ black flake

Black with blue flake

That's not to say that other colors might work as well or better, those are just the ones I fish.

personally i'd go with r.w's advise he knows what he's talking about besides r.w never steered me wrong YET  ;) ;D

Gander Mountain has a ton, but BPS has some too.  Not as good a selection though.

I was looking for the fading watermelon and the pumpkin with black and gold flake.

Ton of success has been had with the black with blue flake senko so I hear ya on that color advice for an Ika.

Looks like GYCB may be the way. I guess I will hit there clearance bin while I'm at it.

The Dicks Sporting Goods by me had the Smoke Gray with Silver Flakes on clearance for $2.49 + tax a package of 10.  Has anyone tried this color and had success?

I have the fall rate real close to the real thing..

but still working on getting it as close to exact as poss. in all areas!

;)

For anyone wanting to try these, I just got another 3 bags of Fat Ikas in Watermelon/Black Flake in the old GYCB packaging.  Nothing wrong with the baits, they just come in the old packaging and thus, they sell for less.

They are $4.79 a bag for BassResource.com members only, plus shipping.

PM or email if interested.

Is the old packaging the green colored or the clear colored?

I have picked up some GYCB in both styles this year. Not a fan of the clear packaging. Gets very oily feeling on the outside.

For anyone living near Richmond I went to Dicks located near Chesterfield Town Center. They have fat ikas there and also they are currently 20% off.

20 % off dangnabbit the dicks near me dont have them at all and im told they may not have in for a long while

It is the clear poly bags with the stamped-on labeling.  GYCB used these for decades until they changed bags last year.

Thats very very interesting.

All of Dicks GYCB products are still in those bags. There very ugly and greasy lol.

So Dicks must have a ton of old stock.

I've seen a lot of stores that had tons of the old packaging, yet I see lots of places with all of their products in new packaging.

99% of all of my GYCB stuff is in the new packaging.  Now and then, I get some of the old packaging from one of my suppliers, but very seldom.

Still, baits in the old packaging are always in great shape, but the bags get soft because they absorb some of the oils the baits were packed with.  I see this happen on most baits packed in the old style poly bags.
