Ive finally tried this stuff after reading RW suggest it a few dozen times. I love the stuff on my spinning gear and my baitcasting.  In fact ive got it on all my reels except my topwater rig.  The only preoblem is I havent been able to find any large spools. Anyone know where I can get it in bulk?

You should be able to get bulk spools of regular hybrid at most shops. Cabella's seems to have an exclusive franchise on the "Ultra Soft" but they sell it in bulk spools also. I have been using it more and more. Good line.

From what I have ascertained on this site the Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft is rated differently than our domestic lines.  I normally use 14 - 17 lb test.  Any idea how to convert that to the Yo Zuri stuff?  Also is the Ultra Soft abrasion resistant?  How much does it stretch?  Thin or thick diameter?  Thanks if anyone can help.  Thanks if no one can help too!

All I can say is that the Yo Zuri Hybrid is some strong stuff! I used it for close to 2 yrs and never had a single problem with it. I also like P-Line, but I think the Yo Zuri is a little bit stronger.

Ultra Soft is SUPER abrasion resistant, perfect amount of stretch, not too little, not too much.  Line diameter seems close to other company's mono of the same lb. test rating.  I've got hung up with 12lb line on a submerged log, and i bent the hook trying to break the line.  Super strong!

Very True. Ive been using the line for onl;y 5-6 months now and havent noticed a problem unless my knot was bad or I forgot to retie. Its a great line, not a lot of stertch at all, just enough to make sure your hookset dosent snap the line.

I fish #4 & #6 Hybrid Ultra Soft on spinning tackle and #12 on baitcasting equipment. Here are the specs:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the specs on yo zuri hybrid breaking strength are for YO ZURI HYBRID, not ultra soft. I would assume they are seperate forumulations. Having fished both, they are different and I personally feel that ultra soft in the same poundage is not as strong as hybrid. I've even contacted yo zuri and have not gotten a response.

In the thicker diameters, original formula Hybrid is about 1 lb test stronger according to Yo-Zuri. So, if #12 original Hybrid = 19.5 lb test, Ultra Soft ~ 18.5. However, in the lower diameters (#4 & #6) the differences are something much less than 1 lb. My experience suggests that the difference is negligible for all diameters.

I think I might give the ultrasoft a try to see if I like it.  I sure do like the hybrid for my spinning rigs though.  The ultrasoft has to be alot better to get me to change.  That 6 lb. test is hard to beat in the hybrid.

so what is the difference between the pound test and average break poundage? shouldnt those be the same number? I purchased 10lb and was a little disappointed to notice the line is a little thick IMO. I like the line, just wish I had gotten a smaller test/diameter.

It really is silly.

There are no industry standards. Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 have a .010" diameter, the same as Ande Premium and many other 6 lb test lines. I suggest you look at line diameter and breaking strength when comparing lines, not the "labeled" pound test.

#6 for spinning tackle will provide breaking strength of at least 11 lbs. Set your drag appropriately and you will not be broken off.

#12 for baitcasting gear has a breaking strength of at least 18.5 lbs.
