Featured Replies

I am once again in the market tou buy a new baitcasting combo. My budget is in the $250 range, and I am looking to use it for shallow to medium running crankbaits. Any help would be appreciated.

If I were in you position, I buy these:  Abu Garcia REVO SX ($149.99) and Team All Star IM10 TAS 785CB 6'6" fast action/mod power ($100).

I am utterly satisfied with my Revos reels and All Star rods.

I'd get a Citica Reel and a nice rod, or a Currado reel and  a bit cheaper of a rod.

This thread is still running on Page 1, a few lines down. Anyhow, take a look at the suggestions, mine would be the same for you:

St. Croix PGC66MMF is a pretty awesome rod at $100.

I would put a shimano D CU200DPV on it. That will put you at $300 though.

I have a problem. Whenever I set out to buy something I always wind up spending more then my budget. :)

OK, I have decided to get a Shimano Citica, But what is a good rod for crankbaits? A fast action rod or a moderate action rod?
