  1. Well...I used to be an Abu Garcia man...until I got into their baitcasting reels. I had nothing but problems with every one i used like a revo and a record. Now all i use is Shimano and I have one pflueger which is nice too. The reels of new Abu Garcia are nothing like the reels of old Abu Garcia...they won't last near as long that is for sure. Imo you should give shimano a try.
  2. BPS Rick Clunn Sig. Series. $100
  3. I use palomar knots on my muskie gear, and I don't use glue either. I haven't had one problem. When I started using braided line I used too light of line, which caused it to snap.
  4. Thanks guys, it is hard to pass up fall muskies. That was exactly what I was looking for.
  5. My bass season has ended, due to muskies, and I figured the technique I needed to learn most was the shaky head. So what are your guys' favorite worms and jig heads for the shakey head? Thanks Billy B
  6. Right now Bass Pro has their Pete Maina Sig. reels on sale for $79.99. They are the nicest muskie reel for the money in my opinion. As for line i stick with 80-100 pound super braid. If you plan on throwing big baits get the 4.2:1 reel as well, it will make the retrieve much easier.
  7. The Terminator football jigs and Booyah Boo Jigs are all I use. I have never lost one of the football jigs due to a snag. But, I do lose a lot of the boo jigs.
  8. When it comes to mono I use nothing but sufix elite. I think it is was more consistant than stren or trilene.
  9. I am thinking about making my first rod this winter to pass time. What would be a good blank to use? I don't want to spend too much as I am not wanting to waste money if I mess up. Thanks in advance.
  10. I tried them out of curiosity a while back and I liked them alot. They really help the bait stay up on the hook when you skip iy bait under a dock or any other cover.
  11. On my muskie set ups I use 80 lb. tuf-line xp and stealth tackle 130lb. test fluorcarbon leaders. I haven't has nor heard of one failure with the stealth tackle laders. If you don't feel comfoatable with 130lb he also makes 180 lb.. I would suggest stepping up to 65lb. test superbraid at least though. Hope that helps.
  12. Thanks a lot guys, I have been looking at the g-loomis' a lot more lately. And, my winter shopping spree at bass pro or cabela's is coming up soon. The summer job this year really helped out a lot with the fishing funds this year.
  13. I have found myself using Senkos a lot more lately and I think it is time a get a rod riiged just for senkos. What length, action and brand of rod do you guys use for senkos? thanks in advance for any help.
  14. I can't believe nobody mentioned my two favorites the roadrunner and mini- mite. I like chart. head with a black or white body with mini-mites.
  15. OK, I have decided to get a Shimano Citica, But what is a good rod for crankbaits? A fast action rod or a moderate action rod?
  16. Don't waste your time with Browning, I got a higer end one for christmas a couple of years ago and it was the worst reel I have ever used, period. I would go with a BPS Rick Clunn Sig. Series or a Shimano Citica.
  17. I am once again in the market tou buy a new baitcasting combo. My budget is in the $250 range, and I am looking to use it for shallow to medium running crankbaits. Any help would be appreciated.
  18. I was surfing the Net earlier and found a site called www.ichibantackle.com check it out. It is a japanese site .
  19. I bought some about a month ago. I think they were just another hyped up lure. I've done no better on them then i have booyah boo jigs, and plus they get snagged a lot easier.
  20. I need help on deciding what reel I should buy, a johnny morris sig. series or a shimano curado d. I have experience with shimano musky gear, and i love it. I also have experience with the rick clunn baitcaster from bps, and love it too. I need help.
  21. I'd go with a jig rigged with a craw trailer. Because I have zero confidence in a T-rigged craw.
  22. Good job, I just started fishing with jigs late last year. Now, this year more than half of my fish and my pb have came on them. It really helped when I gained confidence in it.
  23. Since I am in the process of upgrading my bass tackle, what would you guys recomend for a good jig rod? My price range is between $125-175.

I am new to the site, but as far as a jig goes I like a 1/2 oz boo jig and a 1/2 oz. football jig. I mostly use black and blue, but if I am fishing clear water I like to use green pumpkin. The trailers i use are the baby paca craws and chigger craws that match the color of the jig.
