Is this worth fixing?

Featured Replies

I have BPS Extreme rod that I bought at the spring classice a few years ago. I have not used it in awhile but it seems that I have manged to knock out the insert on the tip. I only paid $59 for it so my question is would it be worht the money to replace the tip or buy another rod in that price range.

If you have a sporting goods store closeby that does rod and reel repair it's really no big deal to put a new tip on a rod.

Thanks Cart7. I was not sure. The local shops here have rod repairs. I will check them out.

Our Wal-Mart carries rod tips.  They cost about 3 bucks.  You can heat the old one with a candle and take it off.  A little flecthing cement and the new one installs in about 15 seconds.

Cheap and easy fix, do not throw it away. :o  If you do, throw it this way! lol

I was a vendor at a fishing flea market a couple of years ago. Near the end, one of the other vendors threw away a BPS Crankin Stik. I took it out of the trash can and almost sold it that day, when a customer pointed out it had a missing guide. Took it to be repaired and sold it at a different market a few weeks later. Free rod, $4 fix, sold for $25, $21 made for someone else's trash. Or I could have kept it. Either way, unless the damage is severe, get'r fixed.

Thanks for the replies, I definatly want to fix it. I use this rod for red fishing. I just was not sure if it was a easy fix or major pain.
