I received word yesterday(at BPS) that the Curados will be $50 cheaper effective December first until April first. Although I do not know all of the details yet, apparently it will be a Manufacturers instant rebate and all Shimano retailers can honor this rebate, not just BPS. My understanding is no paperwork necessary, just a price reduction for three months.

Just a heads up for anyone in the market for a new Curado.

I suspect this is a response to Shimano not particpating in the reel trade in at the BPS spring fishing classic. They are not going to allow trade ins this year either and this may be a way to keep customers happy. Just a guess......................Al

According to local BPS Shimano will not be taking part in the trade in program again in 08. There is talks of Daiwa not doing so in 08 also.

I have heard that Sportmans Warehouse will have the same deal: $50 off Curado's and $30 off Citica's beginning Dec 1. SW does not have online ordering though. I wonder if Shimano is changing the reels again. Seems the only time they reduce the price is when they are changing the reel.

This is good news for me because I was planning on buying atleast one now probably two new curados.

I just found out the rebates will be available for reels purchased from any Authorized Shimano dealer. Also, in addition to the Curado and Citica, there will be a $20 rebate on the Cruxis.

There goes my cat's college fund.  :-/
