Recoil Guides and Braided Line

I saw these photos on another site.  Recoil Guides grooved by braided line.  I thought they were interesting.   I've got one rod with recoil guides.  I use Yo-Zuri hybrid with it.   I guess using braid isn't such a good idea.

I have spiral guides on my BSR803-GLX rod. They don't look quite like those, though. I've only used braided line with the rod since I got it, and haven't had a problem with the guides, yet.

i always thought that those recoil guides looked cheesy and i was suprised to see a big name company like g. loomis using them.

that is what the guides on my ugly stik look like after using braid on them.

I have a Loomis BCR803 with recoil guides and they don't look anything like those.

As far as the braid goes, I have used it with this rod, caught some big fish and they look good as new.  ;)
