bionic baitcaster?

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever used the bass proshop Bionic baitcaster or any of the bass proshop style baitcasters? What did you think?

I bought 4 for my wife when they first came out. They are pretty much just cheap junk. I'll stick with my shimano's.

If you want a BPS branded reel go with the Johnny Morris Elite series unless it's for a kid.

i have 2 bps rick clunns.they are great reels.

I have one BPS Extreme, use it for 2 seasons. Works good so far, but I havent used it a lot ( I kind of prefer to use my Daiwas)

A decent baitcaster starts @ about $100; anything a lot cheaper (unless it's a sale/clearance) it's no worth spending your money on it.

Just my $.02

I have the Bionic Plus. I bought it marked down to $50. It's a $50 reel. I bought it to get back into baitcasters. I didn't want to spend $200 and find I didn't want to use baitcasters again. The function of the reel is pretty good. It is built with low cost components though. If you a looking to use it often, I would say look at something better. If you are looking at a reel for a specific technique rod, that you won't be using a lot, the reel is probably as good as any other reel in that price range.
