Bout time to buy another bait casting reel. I already have an Ambassadeur 6000C that I like pretty good. It's still very smooth and I can cast it, seems like a 1/2 mile.

What's the difference between the 6000C like I have and the 6500C3? Both are the round housing reels. I like the 6000 and up styles because of the line alarm (bait clicker) feature.

I just bought a 5501C from ebay, hope to work it out on some stripers soon =)

If you ever get a hankerin' to try a different Abu round reel, I give a huge thumbs up to the Ambassadeur EXT reels, particularly the EXT Pro.  This is their most recent incarnation of the Morrum reel.  This reel is awesome.  It's extremely smooth, built exceedingly well, and will actually outcast my Revos with light lures.  

The 6000 has bushing's the c3 has bearings .wait till you cast a c4 or c3

The 6500 has a slightly higher retrieve ratio than the 6000.

Well, (the wife) ordered a Ambassadeur 6500C3 today. I've heard the spool is smooth as silk. I can't try it out. Got me a BPS Bionic Blade XPS 7' MH rod coming for it too. I believe I'll be very satisfied. Gotta wait till Christmas but, I'll keep you posted.

I just bought a 5501C from ebay, hope to work it out on some stripers soon =)

i use my 5501 for everything...but it works great for whites and stripers....we caught over 100 fish this past sunday....all whites and hybrids...only one LMB...was tons of fun!..the C3 performed flawlessly..as per usual

You'll be very happy with the 6500 C3. They made some improvements on the C3 and C4 reels last year and made a great reel even better.
