Your favorite tube? 3 to 4"ers

Featured Replies

3 1/2 in. BPS Tender Tube.4" Mizmo.Both in green pumkin.I also like smoke for clear water or pumkin/purple flake.

I fish them most of the time with a slide in head that's got a good hook.Pretty much a slow craw presentation if one doesn't nail it on the fall.Just drag it real slow on bottom with a good pause after each drag.I also like fishing them with a shakey head or Slider head to make them weedless and I C-rig them if the fish don't want to hang on to them long enough.

Zoom tubes, Berkley Power tubes and these;

I very seldom use an internal jighead, or T-rig them. I almost always rig them on an EWG hook, tex-posed, with an internal weight. This has worked the best for me, by far. With this rigging, I can and do throw a tube into anything, and know it will come through it. I use light weights, so this is a rig for less than 10 feet. Wood, weeds, rocks, it doesn't matter. This rig will go through it all

My other favorite tube rig is one of the 3X plastic tubes, weightless on a big EWG hook. The 3X tube will float a big hook, and is a great bait to throw on top of the weeds first thing in the morning, or all day on overcast or rainy days.

Blue/black works a lot of the time but I prefer "natural" colors; greens, browns smoke, etc.

Cheers,

GK

For smallmouth bass:  3 1/2" Mizmo, Kent's Classic (squash green)

For largemouth bass:  Micro Munch Tackle El Gordo (black neon & roadkill); Mizmo 4" Bad Boy or 5 1/2" Grandes

I prefer the 4" tube but will fish the smaller ones. I rig the weedless and open hooked with 1/8, 1/4, and 3/8 inserts. I also fish them trigged with the hook tex-skin. Right now I am experimenting with some piano wire to make some tube holders to keep them from bunching up on the hookset.

I try to keep the colors simple: melon/pepper, pumpkin seed, black/red, smoke/red and white.
