After reading this forum for awhile now and soliciting some advice on baitcasting equipment I felt comfortable enough to pull the trigger and buy one. After looking at a bunch of different options online last night I decided I would just wait until closer to Spring. However, after taking my sons for a ride to the BPS about 70 miles away to let them watch the fish feeding action I couldn't walk away from the Citica/BPS Extreme combo. I had decided the Citica was the reel I would eventually get but when I saw how nice the rod was, it was a done deal. For $110 after the rebate it seemed like a pretty great deal. Now ice out can't come soon enough.

I want you veteran anglers to know how much I appreciate the knowledge you so willingly share on this and other forums. I am sure others feel the same. Thanks again and Happy Holidays to all!! ;D

Yes it seems like there will need to be a lot of practice involved. Fear of the unknown had kept me away before but I look forward to the challenge now because the reward sounds worth it.
