I was at bass Pro last weekend and I was looking at the Browning Midas. It felt like a nice rod, have any of you had this rod or fished with one?  I know I have a wide range of rods at $149 but I just wanted to know about this rod.   Thanks

I'd buy a Fenwick Techna AV for $150 on Ebay.  There's always a few for sale in that range.

Or you can't go wrong with a Carrot Stix. ;)

The only people I've seen say anything bad about them are people that don't own one.  Those that do seem to love theirs.  Browning rods are very nice.  I have a Citori and it's one of the best rods that I own that cost under $100.

I agree with microptus, if you buy one then you will love it. You hear people talk about boron shattering, but then again, all rods could explode if they get too cold. And so far I have seen no signs of brittleness in my midas.
