Anyone tried them?  Local enabler has a few in stock.  I have to say that I don't see paying $200 for a rod that just has a 5 year warranty.

I do like the different colored blanks, would make it easy to just grab a rod off the deck without having to wade through 10 rods.

I am a big Fenwick fan, but I do not like the looks of the reel seats, and grips on any of those.

Not according to the literature shrink-wrapped onto the handle.

Did you see the Cabelas catalog: They have another rod called FENWICK WORLD CLSS. They say it is a reissue of an older rod, anyone ever see that before?

I'm a huge fan of Fenwick too. But I'm not crazy about the split grips as well. I'm hoping to get the Fenwick Elite Tech dropshot rod though. they're supposed to be sweeeet

They seem a bit heavier to me. I was at a local tackle shop that carried Fenwick, and after handling the techna AV and HMG I found that they felt heavier. :-? Correct me if I'm wrong here B)

I've used several models.  My findings:

MH Pitchin stick -- Worked fine for pitching jigs around docks, BUT I like to use the same rig to drag jigs over rock piles, etc.  I can see where some people prefer a heavier rod/action for the thick stuff, and these were probably designed for those people.  However, I would prefer a M action rod, which I don't believe they make in this series.

Dropshot rod -- Seems like a great rod, but honestly just didn't catch many fish on it last year.  I just didn't spend much time finesse fishing in the fall.

Target/spinnerbait rod -- I don't throw spinnerbaits much, but I've found this rod to be an AWESOME rod for burning cranks, especially lipless cranks, among shallow rocks and weeds with a heavy wind blowing into them.  Enough backbone to rip it free, but just enough forgiveness to keep the fish from pulling off.

They'd better do a little QC on what they've got going out of the factory.  Local shop has three of the ET's, all of them show a 5 yr. warranty on the handle.

AFAIK the lifetime warranty is new (within last year or so).
