  1. Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a used Legend Tournament rod, LBC78MHM to be exact and trying to figure out if it has warranty still. I cant seem to find solid info about what years the model Prefixes fall in. I know the TBC are before the LBC and it seems the LBC prefix are 2017+ models, with the little info I could find. Can anyone confirm this? I figure this would be quicker than contacting St Croix.
  2. Hey guys I'm looking at buying a fish finder for the kayak. The 3 I'm looking at currently are on sale: Helix 8 CHIRP MSI+ GPS G4N - $990 CAD none sale prices is $1800 Hook Reveal 9 Tripleshot - $600 CAD none sale price is $1100 EchoMap UHD 93SV - $850 none sale price is $1600 Is the Helix almost $400 better than the Hook Reveal? I've read the Helix MEGA DI and SI are incredibly clear. Is the SI on the Garmin close to the HB? Is there any other units I should be looking at in this price range? I didn't really want to spend 1k on a fish finder for my kayak, but it seems like a good sale price for the Helix.
  3. I was thinking about throwing 6" mag drafts on it but wasnt sure if it would overpower the rod since the magdraft is almost at the rods limit, does it throw it well? Are you using swim jigs or bottom contact jigs? I'm probably going to take it out this weekend and throw a few things on it, I've been wanting to try 6" mag drafts with it.
  4. Recently bought a Daiwa Steez AGS Universal Power 7'9" 1/4-1 1/2 and haven't decided what to use it for or for that matter what it's "best" at. Was wondering for those who own this rod, what have you designated to? I was thinking potentially something along the line of jigs but it also seems like it would be decent for huckin reaction baits out far.
  5. Hey guys, Me and the wife are taking a trip to Miami on April 30 for the F1 Grand Prix. I have about 1-2 days hopefully to find some local Miami ponds/lakes to shore fish from. I'm from Ontario Canada and I'm quite stoked to get my hands on some Florida Bass. I'm wondering if anyone has any bodies of water to fish where there is known good bass fishing? I have a very short time to fish so I don't want to waste my time fishing waters that are unknowingly (to me) terrible spots to fish. I will have a rental car so I can drive within reason Also, this is my first time visiting Florida and Ive heard amazing things about Florida bass fishing. Thanks guys and gals!
  6. The one I was looking at is a 16 zillion SV TW from japan, actually. I just wasn't sure how good the 16 zillions are/if they are worth it now a days.
  7. Hey guys, Are these reels still viable today? or is there better for the money?. I'm eyeballing one for about $210CAD. I can't seem to find many worth while reviews on them. Anyone who owns these have any input? What are the Shimano "comparables"? Figured I'd try and get some input here first.
  8. Found this reel on sale for 249.99 CAD$, did some research and found its basically a STX Gen4. I currently do not own any Abu Garcia Baitcasters. Is it worth picking this reel up for this price? Would like to add an Abu Garcia Revo to the lineup. Seems to have pretty good reviews. I currently own all Shimanos (Chronarch MGL, Scorpion MGL, Scorpion 70, Chronarch 51mg) and 1 Daiwa Alphas. Thanks fellas
  9. You must have a lot of tension on the rod when you're tying your knot, I don't understand how it snaps when your synching a knot apposed to setting the hook.
  10. I wouldn't call this a negative thread, this is actually very eye opening information. Im sure 99% of the people on here had no idea these were 2-piece glued rods, after seeing this I will never buy an Abu rod.
  11. I'm right handed and fish with lefty baitcasters. To me it makes more sense holding the rod with your strong arm/hand and reeling with your weak hand, it feels completely unnatural fishing with a righty baitcaster.
  12. I was just wondering if anyone has fished the lower niagara for smallies? I've been out the past few weeks and have been doing pretty decent with x-raps drifting along the shoreline, but in the last week the x-rap bite has seemed to slow down quite a bit. They seem to be sitting at the 15-25ft mark on the drop-off/shelf, I've tried some deeper diving cranks with little luck. I was thinking of throwing some tubes, senko baits? any thoughts and/or suggestions? Thx, John
  13. I actually have a similar story but with a pike. Long story short, my dad lost his favourite bomber crankbait on a pike one morning on the boat with my brother(I wasn't with them that morning), the next morning the 3 of us go out on the same river I happen to catch that exact same pike on a spinner bait with his bomber crankbait still hanging out of its mouth. Neither of us could believe what just happpened lol. The whole situation just blew our minds, the pike was still attacking and eating with a 3 treble hooked crankbait sticking out of its mouth. Till this day I am still quite amazed at those chances.
  14. Its Chippawa Creek in Wellandport, its on a camping ground/reservation. I'm not sure of the actual name, if any. Its not very big, like I said its about 600m long at the longest point and about 350m wide at the widest point.
  15. I wish I could give more info on the lake, but I have never fished it before. We are curious as to the water depth ourselves, Im thinking its not all that deep, being man made and all. We went to the shore and looked at it quickly, the water seems pretty clear. Staying away from the dead weeds is good advice, they say they spray the middle of the lake, so I'm thinking fishing the shore line. Its on a camping site/conservation so I'm guessing its used for recreational purposes a lot. I was thinking of using some frogs in the lily pads and topwater around the pads as well. What do you guys think of spinnerbaits around the lily pads and weeds as well?
  16. This is the best picture I can get of the lake >, I have marked where the lily pads are. Its about 350m at the widest part and about 600m at the longest part . Hopefully the pic works
  17. Well, next saturday I will be in a local bass tournament on a man made lake. There are lots of lillypads around the lake, apparantly they "spray" :-? for weeds in the middle of the lake. I just want some good advice on what kind of ammo to bring for this time of year, keep in mind I live in Southern Ontario, Canada. Also, what techniques would produce the most?. I was thinking about using mostly soft plastics and possibly some topwater. Any advice would be very helpful ;D, Ill try and dig up a google earth picture of the lake 8-)
  18. I was just wondering how you guys fish this lure: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_58672_100007008_100000000_100007000_100-7-8 Ive tried using it as a popper but it seems to take on water quite fast > Thx, John
  19. Ya but its only free shipping to the US, brings me back to just ordering from delos
  20. I've emailed e21, im trying to see if I can get one in Ontario somewhere since I live in Ontario and they are based in Toronto. It beats have to ship to the states and have him bring it over.
  21. They seem a bit heavier to me. I was at a local tackle shop that carried Fenwick, and after handling the techna AV and HMG I found that they felt heavier. :-? Correct me if I'm wrong here
  22. thanks, thats great ;D, I emailed them to see what they can do for me. Just waiting on a reply back.
  23. Hmm ok thx, that might make things easier for me ;D
  24. is that for the carrot stix? if so where abouts? im from Ontario Canada trying to get a carrot stick, and if I can get it in Ontario it would save me a lot of trouble
  25. Thx for the feedback, my friends moms boyfriend lives in the states (im from canada) and he comes over frequently so I convinced him to let me ship the rod and baits from BPS to his house B) since it cuts down on shipping HUGE.
