Anyone steelhead fishing?
Ive been fishing Niagara River (lower, queenston area), and Port Dalhouise. Ive gone out with my Brother and Dad all times, and we havent caught a thing, we've had some nice hits but never hooked into one. We mainly drift roe sacs, I usualy switch to spoons after getting bored of using roe sacs. We have seen people catch some steelies here and there but nothing impressive. I believe it was 2-3 weeks ago we went down to the Niagara River and it was just loaded with boats, but we only saw about 2-3 guys actualy hook into one. The Niagara river being famously known for its steelhead fishing doesnt seem to be producing this year.

Chronarch 51mg vs Curado 100DSV
Thats a good idea, but where would I find a Curado spool without buying a curado?. I didnt think they sold spools seperatley, because I was asking around at different tackle shops if they sold extra symetre spools and they said they dont do that kind of thing.

Chronarch 51mg vs Curado 100DSV
Ya , I guess if it comes down to I can spool with some braid to get more on the spool if needed. I was told the chronarch is brand new and has never been used, and the rod is in excellent condition. I think I might go with the chronarch, since I already have a Daiwa Procaster 6+1 on an avid AC68MXF. I was also thinking about putting the chronarch on the avid and the daiwa on the premier.

Advice for new baitcaster
Abu Garcia Revo SC sounds like a good choice, it has your 7.1:1 gear ratio you are looking for. Also, the revo's seem to be a favorite on these forums

Chronarch 51mg vs Curado 100DSV
I found these reels being sold locally, and I have researched them both but I need some opinions. Im not sure if im too keen on the fact that the 51MG has a small spool :-/ (think its like 14/90), do you think the line capacity is such a big deal? :-? Id like to know your opinions on what reel you would choose. I can get the chronarch paired with a St croix premier 6'6" MF for $225 canadian, and most likely less with the curado. Thx again:P

Favorite Screw-ups
Haha that happens to me everytime I go out, but for me its usualy followed by cursing and swearing. ;D How about when the line catches your finger on the cast, usualy ends up in a tree for me. :-/

Abu Garcia Baitcaster
I sent him a message on facebook asking him to tell me the model of it and if he can find a pic on google or sumthing. Im kinda of hoping its not a round baitcast, but if the price is right I might scoop it up if it is a round. Im also looking at a brand new chronarch mg with a st croix premier for $225 canadian, you guys think I should scoop that up? sounds like an awesome deal

Light Reel to Put on a Carrot Stick
Whats the difference between a Rapala from wal-mart or a Rapala from BPS? :-?. Maybe the price, in wal-marts favour that is

Abu Garcia Baitcaster
My friend has an Abu Garcia baitcaster that he bought for $250ca 5 years ago . He is willing to sell it to me, I dont know what model it is or anything. I was just wondering how good they were back then, especially a $250 one? :-? If possible could someone link me to some pics of AG BC reels from that era? or maybe have an idea of what model it is according to the price? : Thx

GL2 vs GL3
Ya, I saw that they were having a sale from another post. I looked into it and unfortunately they dont ship to canada >, because with how the american and canadian dollar are now, I would be paying pretty much the same price:P
-
GL2 vs GL3
I actualy have an avid:P AC68MXF to be specific. I was lookin for something a little bit cheaper, im in Ontario Canada so it cost me around 190-200 for the avid. Im also the kind of person who likes to try other options that are out there. Ive herd good things about Gloomis and Shimano rods, so I figured Id get some opinions before I buy either of them.
-
GL2 vs GL3
I was actualy looking at the shimano rods, mainly the compre and crucial but didnt think they would be better than the gloomis'.
-
GL2 vs GL3
I am on a budget but I can afford the GL3, but if I dont have to I dont wanna pay the extra money. So Id rather not spend the money on the GL3 if the GL2 is a pretty good rod compared to the GL3
-
GL2 vs GL3
Im looking to buy a new rod, and I was looking at the GL2 and GL3. My question is, is there a big difference between these 2 rods and is it worth the price difference?

Fishing line
I was actualy looking for Yo-zuri when I bought my new reel but the BPS in toronto didnt have it > BUT I recently found a tackle store that carries it, so when I respool im gunna try it out.

Fishing line
Sufix Siege, my new favourite mono. Incredible knot strength and is tuff as all hell. I recently got a snag with it (14lb) and I had a hard time breaking it off. Very smooth casting also. Thats my opinion.

Baitcast casting help!
All seems like excellent advice, thx guys, ill keep all this in mind next time I go practice in the backyard:P. What Ive noticed is that Dabesfishn says use ur wrists, Raul, you said just forearm and the page i read that reelmech posted said whole arm motion I believe? It seems like those 3 are a personal preference?. I was thinking of watching some fishing videos where baitcasters are used. I guess Ill just have to practice, practice, practice, Im a pretty quick learner and also a very determined person:P:P Thx again guys

Baitcast casting help!
So I recently bought a Daiwa Procaster 100HL and a St Croix AC68MXF, and its my first baitcast setup Ive been fishing spinning pretty much all my life. So ive took it out to the water a few times, and for the life of me I cant cast where I want. It always goes to the side when I cast backhand/forehand >, I have a hell of a time casting it strait out infront of me :-? Is there any tips or tricks that I may be missing here?? maybe things that u would do different from casting a spinning rig? Any advice is very much appreciated

Opinions on rod choice
Well, I got back from BPS yesterday but I didnt buy the Pflueger Pres. Instead I bought a Daiwa Procaster 100HL, which is my first baitcaster I thought id try something different. Unfortunately I have to wait till next week to make the trip to buy my St Croix Avid , which I decided on and I cant wait to try it out Thx for the input guys

Opinions on rod choice
I'm going to be purchasing a new spinning set up soon, I'm actualy going to BPS tomorrow and will be getting a Pflueger President. The 2 rods I am contemplating between are the St Croix Avid and the Gloomis GL2, the GL2 is a little bit cheaper but Ive never actualy picked up a GL2. I would just like to know your opinions one these 2 rods.

what is the deal with berkely bionix
Could it be an older model?, I know stores like wal-mart/canadian tire(for us canadians:P) tend to carry older models of reels and rods.

President or Sedona?
I ended up getting the Sedona 2500, I couldnt go any higher because my grandma gave me 70$, to buy something with so I have something to open at her house. SO I got the sedona with both spools spooled.
