best knot for braid?
Here is a very good site for fishing knots. http://www.netknots.com/html/fishing_knots.html Just click on the "F" not the "Q", it also tells you in some of them if its good for braid or flouro . It has every knot for basicaly every application. ;D

rod repair
Oh my mistake i just read it snapped at the tip , in that case its easily fixable.

rod repair
It all depends where the rod snapped. If it is at the tip you just need to buy a rod tip repair kit. If its anywhere near the 1st,2nd,3rd guides then I dont believe there is hope in repairing it. If you do the blank will be no where near as strong as it used to be, so there would be almost no point to spend the money to try and repair it if its more toward the butt.

MAN HORRIBLE DAY
Looks like the big guy really didnt want you to go fishing that day LOL ;D Thats just some REALLY bad luck, oh and you also forgot to add the price of gas ;D ;D I remember like couple weeks ago me and my dad went steelhead fishing in the Trent River, at first it wasnt raining too bad but after a while of fishing it started raining a little harder. A salmon slammed my spoon and it was about a 20 minute fight. The thing was, while fighting that salmon for 20 minutes i was constantly wiping the rain from my eyes, it was quite aggrevating. At one point I had to close my eyes cuz they were stinging really bad. BUT its all worth it even if you catch just 1 fish.

All around bass rod, suggestions?
I actualy havent paid attention to whether or not it had a roof rack, next time I visit my GF ill take a look. I do have a BPS about 1 1/2 hour away, but i rarely go there so BPS rods are kind of out of the question, and Im not a big fan of ordering rods online. Whe I do go there again I will take a look at the ones you have mentioned. I was wondering what kind of suggestion of the Action, Power, and Length of the rod to get for general all around bass fishing??

Sinking the steel
Im guessing they say double hook sets are a big no no because it may rip the hook out of the fishes mouth, correct me if im wrong. When im salmon/steelhead fishing i tend to do double hook sets, they fight so hard that you have to make sure they arent gunna pop off the hook.

Can't Get It Up
2 words, Heavier Line ... if your catching on average 6 pound fish use 12 pound test. If u want use a lil heavier.

What have you done to get a lure back?
I was fishing in the upper niagara river with my brother, and my cotten cordell got snagged on a rock. The pain in the *** thing was it was close enuff that I could clearly see it. I sat there for liek 10-15 minutes trying to bounce it loose from all different angles. I eventualy got fed up and stripped down to my boxers (took off as much clothing as I could so I would have some nice dry warm ones when i got out LOL), I was up about chest deep, and I was JUST able to poke it out with the tip of my rod. My whole rig was totaly submerged. Thank god for the durability and reliability of Shimano reels ;D.

Where do you find rod blanks at?
Some, but not very many fishing stores carry them in stock. I have a "Fishing World" where I live and they carry a few St Croix blanks. It's pretty cool to see totaly bare fishing rod. You would most likely have to order them directly from the manafacture or a fishing retailer that deals that specific rod. i.e. G-Loomis dealer, St Croix Dealer.

All around bass rod, suggestions?
I will probably eventualy get a 1-piece, but I do need a 2 piece for traveling purposes. I go to my Girlfriends families cottage every year and it would be very difficult to cram a 1 piece into a van packed from side-to-side top-to-bottom with luggage and such, theres only room for us to sit basicaly.

All around bass rod, suggestions?
It's very possible but, I would rather not risk breaking it fitting it in and taking it out of the car all the time.

All around bass rod, suggestions?
I've been looking to buy a new spinning rod for bass fishing, but I need it to be for all around tackle (spinnerbaits, crankbaits, topwater, soft plastics etc). It has to be a 2-piece unfortunately because it has to fit in the car trunk, and it has to be somwhere around the $100 or less price range. The rods I,ve found so far are: St Croix Pemier, Okuma Monterra, Shimano Compre and Clarus. Anyone have any opinions on these rods, and possibly some other suggestions?, I would also like to know whether to get 6'6" or a 7' rod? :-?
