For Senkos and weightless plastics, I personally think the G Loomix GLX BCR893 is tough to beat.

I don't have either BCR, but I'm sure both are fine sticks.

I use my BCR854 for weighted plastics, which in that case, for T-Rigs and weighted plastics, I personally think the G Loomix GLX BCR854 is tough to beat.

RoadWarrior, your posts single handedly have me 2 seconds away from buying a MBR844C. A question though, I look at what the rod is weighted for, and from what I read, I'd think it'd be too much to handle senkos and other weightless plastics. Does it really handle these well? I was actually looking into getting either the SJR722S or SJR783S for such applications. What do you think? Is the 844C good for weightless lures?

A 5" Senko with a EWG hook weighs about 1/2 an oz. 1/2 oz is a little heavy for a SJ722 (I have one) and just under the 5/8 oz limit for the SJ783 (don't have one).  I use my MB844C almost exclusively for senko type baits and Texas rigged plastic worms. I hope this helps.

As Alpster noted, the MBR844 will work well for most soft plastics and especially the Senko. However, just to be clear, I fish all soft plastics on spinning gear. Even the best baitcaster can't make a Senko stay attached to the hook 100% of the time!

I consider this rod to be "The Best" all-around baitcaster, period.

My man, "weightless plastics" can mean a lot of things and even though the most common way to rig a 5" senko is weightles the bait itself is hardly on the light side, it 's too heavy for the SJR722S, it 's in the limit of the SJR783S, better use a more stout rod, if I were you I would listen to these guys advice.

Now if you mean by "weightless plastics" small baits like a 3" senko, or a Smallie Beaver, or an unweighted Trickworm then both rods you picked are going to do a fine job, in the funometer the SJR722S beats the SJR783S.
