Can I use braided line w/ this type of eyelets???  

I haven't used recoil guides so I don't know if braid will work good.  is there much noise w/ recoil guides w/ the braid going through?

Or should I just stick using mono w/ the recoils?

Micro once posted some pictures of Recoil guides after braid use.  Ask him if he can share those again.  Wasn't pretty.

I can't "hear" that stuff zinging through guides but I can sure feel it on the cast.  If that isn't friction I don't know what to call it.

The grooving of any guides with braided line is because the line after awhile picks up enough dirt and grim in it's fibers from the water that is turns the line into a rope saw/file and can and will grove guides (even Recoils) over time.

I have read custom builder reports of loud noise from braided lines and recoil guides when under heavy fighting loads, but mostly from spinning guides.

i own a rod with recoils.i use flouro on it.won't use braid with it because i saw the pictures.the guy who owned the rod is duane richards commonly know as dr.he uses powerpro exclusively.if your going to use braid then make sure you have alconite or sic guides.

Unless you are a rod builder, why worry about it? Recoil guides are expensive and usually only come stock on rods that have a lifetime warranty. The only rod I own with recoil guides is a Loomis GLX dropshot rod. First sign of any grooves and they will replace it, no questions asked. JMHO

The gist of the conversation was that the Recoil guides had about the same hardness as stainless steel guides and were not braid safe.
