Well, thanks to Glenn, I took the new Revo STX he got me and put it on this 6-6 MH Spidershaft I found in "flea market".

24 lbs of drag, I hope I get the chance to use each one ;)

After our little talk yesterday I can't believe Mr.Hopper said reel grips. ;D

He must have your place bugged or something.

Spider shaft some info please?

A series of rods made by Mitchell for spiderwire.  Low-mid range rods, they retailed for $49-$59. Discontinued in 2004, they are often sought by previous spidershaft owners.

That reel just screams loomis 844 imx to me. ;D

Well, the rod isn't quite the same weapon as I have found the original med power shafts (the ones y'all see in many of my vids) to be.

I hooked into this 5.4 on day 1 with the new combo and didn't even know it was a fish till it was 1/2 way up,lol.  My c-bait was just skimming the top of the weedbed perfectly so I was grabbing weeds every few casts.  I thought this was just another "clump",lol

It'll work for now but a custom is in order when the cash flow returns, most definitely.

ps- Another big thanks to Glenn for the gift, it got me my first 5 lbr.  This reel casts a country mile!!!

Absolutely. You can't be runnin around with an STX on a custom stick, and call yourself low budget anything. ;D ;D ;D
