How do these 2 rods stack up against each other?  Is the Cumara worth the $50 premium?  What does everyone think?

i just wanted to compare them as far as sensitivity, weight, and enjoyment of fishing.

the carrot stick is more of a moving bait rod

cumara is more of bottom bouncing plastics rod

im sure both can be used for anything but i would say thats what they

best used as

both are super light

These rods are quit a bit differant , no comparsion. One for bottom bouncing and the other for cranks.

Neither one in my opinion would be an all around rod.

If you are going to buy one . buy the one that suits your style.

Never used a Carrot Stick but own 3 7'2" Cumara's M/L /M/ and M/H and can't say enough good things about them! I've used them for Jigs Senko's Huddbugs Jerkbaits Cranks and topwater. They may have been introduced for bottom bouncing,  yet I have not found an application they couldn't be used for. IMO worth every penny!

FYI: E21 makes more than one model of Carrot Stick. Not sure where this "crankbait only/ parabolic" myth started. :-? I have two very different models and they are both fantastic. I'll put my Revo SX and 6'9" MH casting combo at the top of the list as far as comfort, sensitivity etc.

I dont think there is a clear cut winner in this fight as far as performance. Price-wise, the Carrots are the better deal but like I said, look around and you can get a Cumara for around $150.

Voice of experience - very easy to accidently snap the Cumara's tip! The IM10 blank is strong, but brittle.

by looking in the right places do you mean the flea market, ebay, or can you find them for around $150 retail?

I have never had a chance to hold a carrot stick so I can't comment on the sensitivity of it. But man they sure are UGLY!!!!

They may be ugly in Georgia but here on Rocky Top we just love anything orange....I think they are beautiful!!  

Seriously though I have one of each but it's hard for me to compare as one is a baitcaster and the other is a spinning rod. I will say that so far I am very pleased with both. I would try to get my hands on both and see which you prefer.....IMHO I don't think you'd go wrong either way.

Sounds like mosty good experiences with the Carrot Stix, but I witnessed my fishing partner set the hook on a 2 pound bass on Lake Fork over the weekend and his BRAND NEW Stix snapped in half. It was a 7'6" Heavy action rod. I've also heard a few other stories about them snapping. Don't know much about the Cumara.

DANG!!!  Something's not right about that.....

What's the warranty on those things?

Buy, both and sell the one you don't like after.  

I have a Cumara 7'2" Med Hvy and love it for fishing swimming frogs and hollow body frogs.  It has plenty of backbone and really whips the lighter baits out there.

It does have a lifetime warranty, but I'd like to know how setting the hook on a fish would be user error. You'd think that a heavy action rod would be able to withstand a decent hookset, especially on a 2 pounder. I'd hate to think what would have happened had he set the hook on the 8.4 he landed later that afternoon.

Regardless, it still disturbing that a $150 rod would snap like a twig.

I'm still waiting for my b/c & spinning Carrot Stix coming from Cabelas.  ETA is this week or next.
