Does anybody buy reels through Ebay??? If so, anyway to tell if it is refurbished or used? Thanks.

Reliable sellers always tell if it's refurbished or used. Look at their feedback.  I always buy reels through Ebay.

x2...I bought two reels off ebay in the past two months and have no complaints!

Paid $160 for a new Pflueger Patriarch($200)

Paid $150 for a new G Loomis Rod($220)

quite happy with each. as previously mentioned check seller feedback.

I avoid any sellers with ratings below 97%

i buy and sell stuff all the time on ebay

i always use paypal because then if theres a problem u can get ur money back most of the time but takes some hassle

i have only had 2 bad experences

1 guy sold me a .99 walmart spinnerbait as a terminator

which was my fault he had a pic of the lure and i didnt look at it very closely

I've bought several reels. I wouldn't buy if it didn't say new or used. How would you know how much to pay w/o knoing that.

I had one bad experience. I was sold a reel as new in box. When I got it the reel had line on it, was dirty where the line was and had a huge cut like someone had been messing with it. The seller was a little miffed and a jerk. They had pretty decent feedback prior to that. I saw a couple of problems after that then poof the seller was gone and quit selling.
