I've done a search on some of the various forums and seems like the supreme is really liked. I'm thinking about getting one, but also am looking at others. Any further comments on this reel ?

I have the spinning version . It's a good reel for the money.JMHO

The true test will be how long it functions before it wears out. The spinning version has only been out one year.

Well, fans of other brands are discouraged from making negative comments or insert a prop for another brand on a "Pflueger" thread. If you want suggestions on other brands at comparable prices, search through this section or rephrase the question.

BTW, Pfleuger fans have raved about the Supreme, so I'm sure you will like it, too.

Pflueger Medalist

Pflueger Supreme

Pflueger Supreme XT

They are all great reels. I have the least experience with the XT since I just got them, but they feel better than any other reel so far.
