Featured Replies

I am interested in buying a new legend elite spinning rod but i am looking for one to use as an all around rod  spinnerbait , crankbaits, tubes , senko etc. witch one do you  recomend?

ES70MF

I also have the EC70MHF which I consider

too heavy (stiff) for lighter lures and baits.

The ES70MF is my dedicated soft plastics rig,

but could be used for everything else.

The LE are awesome rods.  I do think that the finish is not durable.  I have alot of nicks and scratches and patches that are peeling off.  The finish looks really nice in the sunlight though.

Does not effect the integrity or performance of the rod though, just cosmetically displeasing.

Contact St. Croix and see if they will replace the rod. I have had the ES70MF for three years and use it a lot, throughout the entire year. As a matter-of-fact it is my "most used" rod. Mine is as pristine today as the day I bought it. If mine were peeling, I would take it up with St. Croix. I'll bet they send you a new one.

Yea

I talked the them today.  I did not mention that it the LE Blank and not the factory made rod.

So they would send me another blank if I send this one back.  So I do not know if it is worth the time and labor to strip down this rod, send it in, and rebuild the new one.  However they said that the newer rods have a better finish on them.  hmmmm... maybe a giant fish will snap my rod sometime this year 8-)
